Cart Goal Product Recommendations is a widget that allows you to suggest additional products in the cart, encouraging customers to add more items to reach their goals shown on the cart progress bar.
You can add this widget only when at least one Cart Goals Discount is active on your store. This ensures that the recommended products align with the customer’s progress toward the goal.
Step 1: Creating an Offer
To create a new offer:
- Click Create Offer.
- Select Create for Cart goals product recommendation under Cart goals.
- Enter a Title for internal reference only. This will not be visible to customers.
Step 2: Configuring Recommendation Setup
Here, you can choose the type of recommendation you want to use. There are three available options:
- Shopify AI
- With Shopify AI, you can decide which products to display; either Related products or Complementary products.
- For complementary product recommendations, you can configure them in the Shopify Search and Discovery app, and our app will automatically use that setup.
- Manual Selection
- With this option, you’ll need to manually choose the products you want to recommend.
- Both Shopify AI and Manual Selection
- This option allows you to use both methods simultaneously. You can manually select products to recommend while the system also includes AI-generated recommendations.
Step 3: Configuring Additional Settings (Optional)
Don’t show products if they’re already in the cart: Enable this option to ensure that the cart recommendation widget does not suggest products that the customer has already added to their cart.
Maximum products to recommend: You can also decide how many products should be shown when Shopify AI is used.
Step 4: Saving and Viewing the Recommendations
Once done, save the offer and click “View in store” from the “Test in store” pop-up. This will allow you to see the Cart Goals product recommendations appearing alongside the Cart Progress Bar after adding products to the cart.
If your theme is not a Shopify 2.0 theme or if your store has a Cart drawer/Slide cart, you won’t be able to position the Cart progress bar widget along with Cart goals product recommendation through the app block. In that case, you’ll need to position it manually using a CSS selector. Please contact our customer support for free setup assistance.
